FICO credit score report: You have too many credit accounts.
Cleveland Plain Dealer report of Fair Isaac statement regarding 'too many' cards
Contrary to other information, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported, on August 2, "As for credit accounts you don't use, Jeff Richardson of VantageScore and [Anthony] Sprauve of FICO say their respective scoring formulas currently do not penalize people for having 'too many' cards."
However, Fair Isaac ("FICO"), the credit score company, indicates—in writing—that a reason that its FICO credit score of a consumer's credit file may not be higher is "Too many bank/national revolving accounts."
Indeed, even an actual citizen's myFICO (Fair Isaac's consumer website) report states (in red letters, no less), "You have too many credit accounts." The person's FICO Report explains that the formula takes into account the number of accounts on a credit report. Another person experienced the same thing in 2008, as discussed on Fair Isaac's message board.
Discussing an August 2nd email message questioning the conflicting information, the reporter who wrote the story said that she would merely wait for Fair Isaac to respond. Today, the reporter said that Fair Isaac has not responded. The news organization's article, "Four things that can shave your credit score: Plain Dealing," on its website remains unchanged.
Also today, Fair Isaac acknowledged receiving the August 2 email.

If that is the case, then what causes FICO Score Reason code 04 ("Too many bank/national revolving accounts") to appear?
Last century, I spent a long time on that.

Thank you for talking.
A video, formerly on Fair Isaac's website, that states that employers use credit scores (the link should start at that part (:45)): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM46EG4YT9g&feature=share&list=UUgn3a9Cdyv4D7IClBiGbFEA#t=45s

You claim, "Many different websites sell credit scores to consumers, but only myFICO.com is the source for direct consumer access to FICO scores."
However, Equifax sells online access to FICO credit scores on its website, and the New York Times refers to information from you as "fuzzy."
In regard to one issue in particular (one that I have followed closely for the past 5 years), I wouldn't use fuzzy so much as false. But, I'm from the Midwest. Let's make that flat-out false (because that thing is not getting enough attention). So, there!
I don't trust the lot of you (including the Times, who publishes false information), but I'll ask anyway: What is the meaning of this?
