You ask, "Why do employers check credit scores?"

In fact, the title of your document is "Looking for a Job? Employers May Look at Your Credit Score."

You write, "In periods of high unemployment, employers encounter many applicants with poor credit scores," and "They look at many factors when selecting potential employees-a credit score is just one."

No, they do not. Employers do not use credit scores. I looked into it. What caused you to say those things?
