Credit Score Myth 2 continues despite clear information to the contrary

Employers do not use credit scores because they cannot even get them. The credit bureaus do not sell scores for employment purposes.

However, the writer, The Credit Guy is found making the same false statement elsewhere. With the well-worn attention-grabbing, alarming, shocking claim, in The Rapid City Journal he states, "In addition, many employers make decisions about hiring and/or promoting based on a person's credit score."

That is not true; employers do not use credit scores.

The article at that address states, falsely, "In addition, many employers make decisions about hiring and/or promoting based on a person’s credit score and many insurance companies review credit reports to establish premium rates."

That website is maintained by The Rapid City Journal owned by Lee Enterprises. The editor is Chris Huber. The top person of Lee is Mary Junck, executive chairman. The CEO is Kevin Mowbray. #TheEditors
