The network television news organization also published false information about the history of the United States of America. That is identified here to make a point about false information about credit scores: If an organization won't correct an error so blatant as one about American history, what chance does some esoteric issue about personal finance have?
In September of 2019, CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes wrote, "'We won't stop until the job is done,' Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi said."
That is not true. Pelosi is neither in the senate nor is her title Majority Leader. She is Speaker of the House.
CBS News does, indeed, make corrections of its errors of fact. One is documented with the title "CORRECT: Stocks Seen Wilting If Rate-hike Concerns Heat Up."
It states: "A previous version of this story, published May 25, incorrectly identified market analyst Peter Cardillo's title and employer. The story has been corrected."
Brooke Lorenz is Director, Communications, CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell. Lorenz's email address and telephone number are public.
Despite messages addressing Cordes, the CBS Evening News and its managing editor, Norah Odonnell, the compound false information about US history still exists with no correction.
