Sal Khan
Khan Academy

Dear Mr. Khan:

Last night, while watching a professional football game, I saw you on a television commercial.

Employers do not use credit scores. I looked into it.

However, you state: "Now, the misconception that a lot of people have is that any inquiry will ding your credit score. So, if your landlord were to look at your credit score—not to give you a loan, but just to get a general sense of your creditworthiness—or if an employer were to look at it, or if you were to look at your credit score (which you should do, on a regular basis) – if you were to do it (just to—kind of—find out what the score is), that's called a soft inquiry."

Please correct your error today.

The efficacy of a social media message is inversely proportionate to the embarrassment of an earnest response.

I sent a message to you: http://creditscoring.com/influe... .

See your false video, added last night, to a playlist of false statements about credit scores: http://www.youtube.com/watc... .

That myth has serious consequences. There is enough blame to go around.

Are you there?
